Editorial Policy

Effective: July 27, 2026.

This policy defines the standard for material included in the current PromptInk index. It is designed to make the difference between an instructional framework, an observed result, and a commercial claim clear to the reader.

Editorial scope

PromptInk publishes educational material about AI-assisted content workflows. Current topics include process documentation, prompt organization, editing, review controls, and repurposing. The site does not promise search rankings, revenue, audience growth, or a particular model output.

Evidence levels

Different statements require different support:

  • Process guidance must explain the steps, inputs, review points, and limitations well enough for a reader to evaluate or adapt the method.
  • Product facts such as pricing, plan limits, features, or policy requirements should cite the product owner or another appropriate primary source and include a verification date where the fact may change.
  • Test results must identify the test date, model or product version, input, relevant settings, evaluation method, and representative output. Failed or mixed results must not be hidden when they materially affect the conclusion.
  • Performance claims require the measurement period, metric definition, comparison basis, filters, and original supporting evidence. A number without those elements is removed rather than presented as a result.

Examples and templates

A prompt, checklist, or sample can illustrate a method without proving that the method performs better than an alternative. Illustrative examples should be described as examples. They must not be presented as real clients, campaigns, analytics records, testimonials, or platform results unless those records exist and can be substantiated.

AI assistance

AI tools may assist with outlining, formatting, transformation, or drafting. AI output is not accepted as a source for a factual claim. A person remains responsible for checking sources, evaluating whether the text adds useful information, removing invented details, protecting confidential data, and deciding what to publish.

We do not describe content as “human written” merely because a person edited model output. When the method of creation matters to the subject or conclusion, the page should explain the relevant use of AI.

Product reviews and comparisons

A product review should identify the plan or access level used, test date, tasks performed, relevant settings, source of price and feature information, and material limitations. Marketing pages alone are not hands-on testing. A comparison should apply the same criteria to each product and distinguish observation from opinion.

Older product reviews are currently excluded from the main index while their testing records and current product facts are reviewed.

Sources and links

Primary sources are preferred for changing facts, product documentation, policy, and statistics. A source should support the statement next to it rather than merely discuss the same topic. Links are checked during substantive updates; a broken or changed source should be replaced, archived, or disclosed.

Bylines and expertise

A byline, biography, credential, employment history, social profile, or numerical achievement must be accurate and supportable. Older personal attribution on PromptInk is not part of the current indexed publication while those records are reviewed. Current pages use publication-level accountability and the contact information on the About page.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate links, sponsorships, free access, discounts, gifts, or other material relationships must be disclosed near the relevant content. A commercial partner may correct a factual error but may not require a favorable conclusion or approve an article presented as independent editorial work.

Updates, archives, and removal

PromptInk does not claim that every page is updated on a fixed schedule. A changing product page should show the date its facts were checked. A substantive revision should receive a truthful updated date. Pages that cannot meet the current evidence standard may be removed from navigation and search, merged, corrected, or retired.
